water use is not insignificant but I haven't estimated it. The process also requires a lot of water for sanitizing & rinsing the sanitizer. last batch was two years ago, and the outflow went to watering the lawn. I was toying with the idea of a pump recirculating ice-bath water through the chiller to cut down on water usage. Got the pump and plumbing set up, just haven't had the time lately to actually make any beer.

ours is read periodically, and they assume it all goes in the sewer. The reading and bill seem to lag a few months behind (or they don't read it very often) but there is no averaging.
