Counterflow Wort chiller using simulated convoluted copper tubing. That should slow them down :-) http://www.thegatesofdawn.ca/wordpress/homebrewing/wort_chiller/ I'm interested in air-air counterflow designs but this describes a home made beer-water counterflow unit. Uses a nice trick (that may even work) of soldering a copper wire spiral on the outside of the centre tube to attempt to disrupt laminar flow and thereby improve heat transfer. "Convoluted tubing" is the name given to systems that use a spiral of square cross-section tubing which the wire scheme (attempts to) simulate{s}. Has anyone here any practical counterflow design experience. Much on web material that sounds good leads to abstracts of for $ papers. I think that 'just doing it' will probably work fine for my purpose, but all input welcome.
