 220uF/16V aluminium through hole cylindrical at the input (supply
comming from the wallwart) 330nF/50V 1206 near the output and
47uF/6.3V D size (around 0.02 ohm) at longer distance on PCB (I have
chained BA033 and BA030 from +5V output for other bulls, it was the
RFside of a TV)

The ESR graph on LM2940 gaves you a large stability area if some
current is drwan.
