So what we call 100 hp nowadays, is > actually 150 hp if you measure in "real" horses. And of course that's only your average horse, for a sustained period of time. Peak exertion for a horse can easilly be 5 horsepower. Heck, the difference in exertion in humans between working and working hard is pretty big too, 100W resting, 500W for what most people would call exercise and 2000W+ peaks for pro athletes. Which also means that the usual refrain that 90% of you heat is lost through your head isn't true the second you start moving... - -- http://petertodd.ca -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFGSLkz3bMhDbI9xWQRAqEnAJ9Ip3j/Ol66FsXrqsG26cXImi1YmACeJ4+3 gKrdnCc79HbdFyR1PTd87jE= =ashF -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
