James Watt was trying to avoid being accused of cheating, therefore his definition of horsepower is actually 1.5 times greater than a "real" horsepower (what a horse can pull). So what we call 100 hp nowadays, is actually 150 hp if you measure in "real" horses. It's a bit counterintuitive, because it's just like putting lead in weights. You buy 1.5 lbs of apples for the price of 1 lb. Vitaliy -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
