They look like modules which in Italy are known as "Aurel" after the 
firm who used to make them.
Yes, they should work pretty fine. Only, you'll probably need to do 
Manchester Encoding for them.

Needless to say, I may point your attention to Nordic modules as 
distributed by Sparkfun. :-)
