Good day to all. I'm having a problem with a small Windows XP peer-to-peer network. Most of the machines are running XP home edition and are limited to a maximum of 5 simultaneous logons as per MS I need to bump that to a higher number, at least for the short term. Much searching brought me to where it is explained how to use Microsoft's Group Policy Editor to bump that limit up to 50 simultaneous users logged onto a Windows XP machine. The instructions given seem easy to do. However, gpedit.msc (Group Policy Editor) is not shipped with XP home edition. Another link (Google cached version) http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:lsMQmbxcOOkJ:www.geocities.com/kilian0072002/GPEditHome.htm+gpedit.msc+windows+xp+home&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=17&client=opera) shows how to copy and register gpedit.msc from a XP Pro machine to a XP home machine but there are problems: the registry key locations are not in the proper locations. The author of the above technique suggests using Regedit to observe the phantom keys being written but I have no idea how to configure Regedit to show me only those keys that have recently changed. My question: does anyone have any idea of how to match up a Group Policy entry to the appropriate Registry key(s)? The group policy string I am trying to match up is: "Computer configuration/Windows settings/Security settings/Local policies/Security Option" and the variable name is: "Interactive logon: Number of previous logons to cache (in case domain controller is not available)" The machine being configured is running Windows XP home edition (SP2), with most patches applied. (Missing only IE7 & WGA Notifications). Any suggestions gratefully accepted. dwayne -- Dwayne Reid Trinity Electronics Systems Ltd Edmonton, AB, CANADA (780) 489-3199 voice (780) 487-6397 fax Celebrating 22 years of Engineering Innovation (1984 - 2006) .-. .-. .-. .-. .-. .-. .-. .-. .-. .- `-' `-' `-' `-' `-' `-' `-' `-' `-' Do NOT send unsolicited commercial email to this email address.
