My understanding is the difference in what is loading the engine. The
North American numbers are supposed to include the looses involved in
turning the power steering pump, oil pump, etc. Other regions may not
include those looses. I might be well off on this, but I have long ago
noticed that the HP ratings in Europe vs. NA differ, on identical cars,
with identical power trains. TTYL
