I like Atmel's pricing and line up of parts, it is however a bit of
concern over availability and what models they might make disapear.
NXP part's are more expensive and lack some of the features I would
like.  Philips traditionally has had longer stability of there parts,
however they are now NXP and things are apt to change faster as a
consequence.

I would like something with CAN interface's on them (oddly I'm looking
at microchip for the CAN interface drivers).  Are there others out
there that offer these? (that aren't being sued by microchip or some
other legal hassle).
