Tyres I've had that *are* marked have a note to the effect that it only applies in those countries - and it's in PSI. Gauges here tend to be in PSI and Bar, but most people use PSI because that's what they're used to. Let's face it, there's no practical implication for using any particular unit of measurement - as long as it's on the gauge, you just put the needle on the right number!
