I've used a unit that looks very similar to this one. The one I used however is manufactured by Hakko. This unit sounds like a knockoff. I can't vouch for the quality of this unit. I can however vouch for the quality of the Hakko units. They are very good. Maybe a little high in the price, but excellent quality nonetheless. If this one performs only half as good as the Hakko unit, you'll be doing good. I would be cautious though. I haven't heard of this brand. Even the name sort of suggests that the quality might not be the highest achievable. The price does look attractive though. I guess at this price, if it wasn't all it was cracked up to be, at least you wouldn't be out a whole lot of money. That's my take on it. Good luck. If you do get this unit, let us know how it works out in case someone else would be interested. There was a thread by the same name that Vasile started a year ago. We've been using the CSI 825A+ workstation for a few months, but just like its predecessor (also a CSI unit) it stopped working after a few months of use. It will get to the target temperature, work OK for a couple of minutes, then the heating element would turn off, even though the "actual" temperature reading would still be within the desired range. If you click the up/down buttons a couple of times, it would start showing the true temperature, go down to about 100F, and then start heating again. Long story short, we're now looking for a replacement. The workstation that someone suggested to Vasile is an overkill for our application (desoldering TSSOP ICs): http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7608385365 This unit looks about right price-wise: http://cgi.ebay.com/_W0QQitemZ120114922280 Any comments/suggestions are welcome.
