I follow the following newsgroups: rec.radio.amateur.(antenna,equipment,homebrew) The antenna group is active with a lot of knowledgeable folks who like to hassle a bit. The QRN is pretty high in all newsgroups. Most of the Ham radio lists are pretty specific to some particular direction. I am on the fringe of "software defined radio" at the SDR group on Yahoo. The ARRL does not have a list that I am aware of. They do offer some newsletters but the information is generally non technical. In general I have found the QRP guys to have the most useful (interesting) topics.
