Agreed, my knowledge of PocketPC and its OS are nonexistent. Regarding drivers, there is a "standard" driver for "Class Compliant" MIDI devices. Any usb device that identifies itself as Class 1 (Audio) Subclass 3(MIDI) should work with the drivers that are included with most windows versions (unknown for PocketPC though). These common drivers are a blessing and a curse. It's nice to have a standard, but the windows drivers are generally not "multiclient capable", so only one program at a time can access the MIDI port. That is why some manufacturers prefer to "go their own way" and write their own drivers. Edirol chose to cover both, by offering a switch to select how their devices should identify themselves to the OS. I am only familiar with this because I wrote a class compliant USB MIDI driver for an obscure OS, so I had to get deep enough to figure out the details. I guess everyone has a hobby. :-) Lyle -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
