> I want to do an A3/A2 poster which will be a compilation of several > digital photos. Do any of you know of any software that can do that? Then there's the fabulous and free Autostitch. Utterly marvellous - automatically orders, aligns and merges images and does an extremely good job. http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html It's been in free beta version for some years now. They upgrade it every now and then. Every ?6 months the current version expires and you have to download the latest one. The recent download seems to be rather faster than the early ones. Minimal documentation, but little is needed. The example on their webpage doesn't do justice to the software. As an example of what it can do, see. http://public.fotki.com/RussellMc/events/auckland/ This is my home city of Auckland. Picture is made from multiple images by autostitch. It has been cropped to make it rectangular as the photos fit together in a somewhat curved manner for obvious reasons. This is a 270 degree view. You need to click the thumbnail and then "Get original uploaded photo" to see the full size image. **** WARNING **** 4.1 MB file The next picture is One tree hill / Maungakiekie. Not a panorama. It is a photo even though it looks more like a watercolour. Taken from 5.5 km away with a 500mm mirror lens. The 3rd photo shows the context of the 2nd photo. Notice that part of the top layer of power lines has magically vanished - an intermediate stage to ridding the landscape of this blight :-). No other photoshoppery has been done to the image. The birds are real and that's how the trees looked too. Good Friday morning on the way back from dropping a US visitor at the airport.
