What I'm after is typically done with something like Draeger tubes,
but for the last 7-8 years there have been a bunch of companies doing
micromachining and MEMS based sensors.  Unfortunately I am haivng a
hard time wading through all the pretenders.

I'm also looking for small, relatively inexpensive, thermal cameras.
I have one source but at $8000 per camera, it really dosen't hit my
idea of "inexpensive".

Ultrawideband radios are another area of interest. Again much stuff
out there that's almost ready, but little to none that's ready today,
and not already bound up in some product or other, like Belkin's UWB
wireless usb hub.
