iMacs and mini's are very laptop like, that is the ram and hard drive are upgradable and the cd drive could probablly be upgraded with some minor case modding. There is no space for extra drives etc.

afaict the high end macs have generally been relatively easy to upgrade with the caveat that you somtimes need things like special rails (much like dells in that regard).
