Any decent study should try to make a fair comparison (otherwise, you're right -- the findings are pointless). A Danish acquaitance reported that in Denmark, the average person ends up paying 60% of their wages in taxes. That's not counting the 18% (IIRC) sales tax on *everything* (including food).
