Now, two months after I started learning PICs, my first project is finished. One could probably ask why I didn't do the flashing LEDs first. Frankly, I don't know. I think it's more fun to construct your own problems/scenarios and then build the track as the train goes. Anyway, what I have made is what I call a "Texas hold'em blind level-tracker". It's similiar to a chess clock, it keeps track of the time for the blind bets (which is a fixed amount of bet for a specific period of time). Before I made this, everytime when we played the game live someone had his or her cellular phone and used a timer on it. It's pretty boring, so I thought this was a perfect project to learn PICs. And it was! The biggest problem for me during this endeavour was to understand interrupts. Thanks to you all on PIClist that helped me out understanding how they work. I'm attaching a link to a couple of pictures I took of the finished product, complete with guts and all. The four top segments are timer (MM:SS), the two bottom are which blind level, and the five buttons in the middle are "minute +1", "minute -1", "start", "stop", "reset". http://bos.hack.org/hacks/pokerclock/ And yes, I love recycling! -- - Rikard - http://bos.hack.org/cv/ -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
