I'm having an ICD2-clone that I've been using for a month or so in MPLAB, never had any problems with it. This weekend I used it extensively for a school project and today is the first time I rebooted the machine. Now, MPLAB cannot find the ICD2-device when selecting the menu "Programmer->Connect". Looking in the hardware manager in Windows, the device is not there. I rebooted the machine and hooked up the USB-cable once again, but the device wouldn't show up. I uninstalled MPLAB and reinstalled it. After reboot, I added the ICD2-cable to the computer and MPLAB asked me to set it up. After doing so, I checked the hardware manager and found "Microchip tools -> Unknown device". I clicked "update driver" and told Windows to search for the best places for the driver to be found. After half a minute, the screen turns blue with a lot of technical text "***STOP**** icd2w2k.sys". I rebooted, removed the file, rebooted again and tried to update the driver, but I got the same error. It worked this weekend but not anylonger. I have read the files "clnicd2.htm" and "ddicd2.htm" under C:\Program Files\Microchip MPLab\MPLAB IDE\ICD2\Drivers, and the step-by-step guide in the cleaning documentation made a blue screen for me as well, so I had to reboot the computer. I have MPLAB v7.52. Has anyone had a similiar issue? I have contacted Microchip but I guess I will have to wait some days for them to reply, meaning I have to go stuck with this project :-( -- - Rikard - http://bos.hack.org/cv/ -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
