Or the other problem is that they transferred the smog to somewhere else, 
namely the remote part of Russia where most of the worlds platinum comes 
from. apparently the production process produces copious amounts of smog.

And then there is the issue that the converter converts some of the products 
into more harmful products than what it cleans out ...
