While there is a "standard" with IDE hard drives with regards to which way the cable plugs in (pin 1 is nearest the power connector) with floppy drives there was nowhere near as common as standard. While many drives had pin one away from the power connector, some drives did it the opposite way. Only way to be sure is to find the pin 1 silkscreen. Man, this takes me back, I haven't owned a computer with a floppy drive that I use for YEARS now.
