pdf says 3dBm at 10mA 3V, but runs OK at 5V (datasheet is not
accurate re Vcc limit)

They actually achive 8km ? Much more than my customers would
need normally but there are some cases and other aplications when
1km or more would be needed. If I could make a long-range Tx
as optional that would be good. For now just improving the range
with a better antenna might just do, even if it got to only 500m
