One way to find out, is to do a light curve.

Grab a solar cell, and fab up a light-tight enclosure that will hold
the LED at a fixed distance/angle to the cell (lab precision not
needed)
Plot the curve of solar cell current vs led current, and see where it flattens.
Then compare with a known LED with If of about 20mA, with the same
color and junction type.
