One thing I've noticed, don't know if this is relevant but it is unusual
(in my set-up anyway)

With every other MPLAB project I've got, the Output window comes
to the foreground during the build, then reverts to the background. This
10F project doesn't do that, even though the build is successful and code
is produced. The project has not been set up differently to any other

I think I'll update MPLAB. Today is a lose-lose day. Whatever I do is
going to take time and be a gamble or perhaps unnecessary. I told the
customer I should have his prototype done in a few hours, for a meeting
ASAP this week. And that would have been the case if the 10F had
worked. But I don't want to make my problem his problem, so I'll have
to do an emergency port to a 12F. Not a big deal, but the 10F is the
part for the job and it grates to the same thing twice

And then be totally steamed if the 10F works with a new MPLAB ;-)
