Hello all, I'd like to know if someone (esp. a ham) has built a PIC based Weeder style frequency counter, and whether it was quiet enough to coexist in a box with a sensitive (direct conversion, high gain) receiver. Also what is the minimum bandwidth requirement for listening to the usual CW pileup that occurs around sunset on 7010 kHz ... I am looking for something inexpensive, small and portable. I saw offers from Elekraft etc but for now I am experimenting with a usual SW radio with a 'flying' BFO soldered dead-bug style on its back. I'd like to use something slightly better. please share info, tia, Peter P. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
