Question on PoE circuits..for those who have designed them of course. On the data end of things....the POD side, your drawing power according to the PoE controller...it negotiates the power requirements, etc. So this is a true PoE device, not just something drawing the 48VDC from the CAT cable. If the device is standalone....nothing else connected to it, and its only talking back to the switch, there shouldnt ever be a reason for it to be required to be isolated, correct? The ground reference for the ethernet comm and power are, or should be, the same. Its low voltage, and inside plastic, so no issue of a user ever getting access.
