How about using a Piezo-electric element as a knock sensor.  Glue it to the
block, filter and amplify.

Is there a way to measure the RPMs of the folowing motor ?

It is a model engine, it has no sparks because it runs on diesel-like
fuel and uses a glow plug.
I bought a small car which has this motor and i was wondering if i can
see its revs in realtime
