You can get one of these new for about $1000, but it's black and white. > Just wondering if you had some suggestions of manufacturers and > models of Oscilloscopes which are not too expensive (i.e. less than > US $400). That's gonna be tough for a real oscilloscope. You can get new 60MHz Instek CRO scopes on e-bay for around $150 (usually about $400 msrp). I just did a bunch of research on cheap digital scopes and ended up buying a DS1102C from Rigol: http://www.rigolna.com/products_osc_DS1000.aspx It's kinda steep for your budget, but man it really kicks butt for the money if you can afford it ($1000 for 100MHz, 2 channel). Rigol makes the Agilent 3000 (same as Rigol's older 5000 series). I really like this scope, it does all the math plus it's color. The sample rate is a bit low for 100MHz bandwidth (400Msam/sec), but the deep 1Msample buffer is nice. So far, I'm really happy with it. I haven't seen any USB based scope that even comes close, except maybe Clever Scope. This is interesting too: http://www.saelig.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PSSA002&Category_Code= I don't know anything about these, but they're sure cheap enough. The screen is larger than average and full VGA. I can tell you this, I'm super impressed with Rigol's tech support. I emailed them about a couple of things and they responded immediately. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
