Did you measured at least on 10 PICs and you could say it's indeed 0.3V? The problem here is which is the current when you could consider diode completely switched ON. My affirmation was based on measurements on some PIC16F877 at the release time on the market. I have used this trick for negative voltage measurements slighty near ground using just the AD inputs.
