When I had to do such a floating switch I used a Royer style dc/dc converter and a hysteresis element after the high side rectifier. Imho the control current supplied by the irf part is insufficient for a stable gate drive when noise etc is present and during switching. Perhaps it could be used to supply power to a standard gate driver instead of being used stand-alone.
