Thanks for the tip! I have that book now, and also purchased a more recent similar book, "Embedded Linux Primer" ( 978-0131679849 ). I'll give a short review of both later. I hadn't looked at snapgear before. I did just build a new development computer as my previous system took just under 4 hours for a compile build. Unfortunately I purchased it without checking hardware compatability, and it may be that I'll have to wait a few months before a standard (stable) distribution comes out that fully supports it.
