IMHO Ontrack Easy Recovery is a good choice. It let you recover files to 
another hard disk without writting to it. Just take a look in Omtracks 
WEB site for other options.

I trust their software, it saved me a couple of times and I choosed it 
because most hard disk manufactures uses Ontrack software to partition 
their HD. :-)
