There's another one from http://www.tibbo.com as well (referenced from CC issue 192, July '06, p78). I imagine the Digi product is a bit more expensive than the Lantronix product due to the Arm processor and much larger memory - the lantronix is an x86, and is not re-programmable (at least, not by the user). But you'll have to get quotes - I don't know what the pricing is. That's one of the reasons Digi purchased Rabbit, is so they could more effectively compete in the lower cost market. Digi already has quite a bit of WiFi experience, as well as cellular gateway experience, so I suspect they purchased Maxstream for much the same reason - lower cost wireless for certain applications. Although before the purchase I didn't realize Maxstream had radios that go 40 miles, among other unique products. I get to work on some interesting stuff. -Adam On 3/13/07, alan smith wrote: > Nice....I didnt know that Lantronix had any competition in that area of the integrated serial to ethernet jacks. Might use that as leverage to get the price down from the $40 they want for it. Wonder what Digi wants for thiers...? > > "M.
