I'm onto my very first PIC-design and I've got stuck already. I'm
reading the datasheet for 16F628A and the description of RA5 confuses
me:

RA5 input port - Master clear. When configured as MCLR, this pin is an
active low Reset to the device. Voltage on MCLR/VPP must not exceed
VDD during normal device operation.


I have built an external (discrete) delay switch that is going to use
RA5 (all other ports are full). The switch gives a logic HIGH when
activated and it is floating when not used. How should I interconnect
it with RA5?

What I mean is, if I sent a HIGH to RA5, won't the device reset itself?
