I generally get an "invalid signature" message from my Mac's Mail.app.
Probably because the list software appends the info about subscriptions.
I guess such things aren't much use for mailing lists :-(
Can you suppress the signature on a per-destination basis?

Since the signature forces multi-part MIME encoding, it may be causing
your text part to look 'weird' to some software as well...
