I'm a Linux programmer by trade, so while I am familiar with electronics, it is not my strongest suit. Guess I should have asked before I bought it, but I'd rather find out now before I got too far into it (I purchased it before I found this list). I'm basically going to be programming some 12C671's, which is the reason I purchased this one. I do plan on getting into some 16F84 projects later, but that will be a few months down the road. It's supposed to be compatible with the Kit 149 programmer, which I am assuming is somewhat of a standard. Did I waste $50 and need to buy a different programmer (preferably before my chips arrive from Digikey), or am I good to go with it? I saw plenty of other (more expensive) programmers, like MPLab's, but being inexperienced it looked like the one I bought was cheaper and did the same stuff. Thanks in advance everyone.
