Oh, I hadn't realized that Surplus closed its retail doors. There's also the Computer History museum off of 101 in Mountain View that's quite interesting... Lots of old hardware, analog computers, giant racks of tubes, a difference engine or something like that... that sort of thing. The Tech (don't know what the formal name is) is next to the Children's Discovery museum in downtown SJ, but it's a also a little bit on the childish side. Neat, but maybe not worth it unless you have kids with you.
