Harold, Try adding more 0.1uf caps and make sure WDT in config fuse is off. The ICD seems to program the chip and recognize breakpoints fine. However, most of the time, when I hit a breakpoint, the "little green arrow" showing where I am in the source code does not appear, locals do not appear, and the watch list is not updated. If I hit F7 or F8 to step through the program, it APPEARS to be stepping (a message on the bottom of the screen says it is), but the green arrow still does not appear. This is intermittent. I can close MPLAB and re-open it, and it may work for a while, then stop. IDEAS? Debugging this way is difficult! THANKS!
