Because it is a small company, it should be easy (easier than in a big
company) to make sure the software engineer who's to lead the
firmware/software development gets involved, at least in a review of the
electronics design, no? Beats a baseball bat as solution, I'd say...

Communication is not everything, but everything is nothing without it, or
so the saying goes :)
