It takes a bit of time to figure out what example 1 does, but only a few seconds to determine the function of example 2 (ignoring text on bottom). Note they are the same circuit. Example 2 also gives clues about what is "bad" about the circuit that can be inferred by the symmetry of the schematic layout (unwritten).
