I took the bait and ordered one. Looks like a usb thumb-drive. Has a MSP430F2013 on the target board. And comes with a CD with IAR Systems Embedded Workbench Kickstart edition, a somewhat upscale version of MPLAB. The available resources that I have found so far are mainly oriented around C language although assembly examples can be found. I found it a bit more difficult to get the information I needed compared to getting info on PIC's. But that shouldn't slow anyone down too much. I'm still learning how MSP430's function but I think they are pipelined such that with a 16MHz clock, they tick along at 16 mips. Not too shabby for a buck-fifty component. And they have some interesting low power modes. Overall, it's a fast cheap way to find out if this processor is right for your requirements. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
