Pros:
- open-source and native under Linux (and other unixes)
- supports direct programmers
- supports alternative compilers (gputils, sdcc, jal, ...)
- some support for gpsim
- some may find the interface more intuitive and more advanced (?)
- command-line utility

Cons:
- no graphical interface for Windows
- no usb support under Windows
- incomplete support for icd2 debugging
- not all chips supported yet
- only one developper with limited time :)
