It's a win32 console application as far as I can tell - it supports long file names for me. The issue here is probably a difficulty with how MPLab is setup to use CC5X - it's not sending the full path name to the command line. I'm wondering if it's a problem with how the project or workspace is setup if it's not due to the way the toolset is set up. The only problem I've had recently is that MPLab itself doesn't like full pathname/filename combinations greater than 64 characters. So I've had to remap my "c:\documents and settings\adavis\my documents\projects\" to "c:\proj" so the debugger can read the COD filename CC5X produces. I would have spent a long time figuring this out if CC5X didn't warn me in the build output window that the filename/pathname was longer than 64 characters and might be inaccessible to MPLab. Oh, and it was a pain to set up with the first version of MPLab 6 - something with the way MPLab generated the command line conflicted with CC5X's command lines. Got it working in the end, but now it's pretty easy - MPLab has the toolchain info built in, you just need to specify where the executable and include files are and away you go. -Adam On 1/18/07, William Chops Westfield wrote: > > On Jan 17, 2007, at 9:44 PM, Don French wrote: > > > Error : Unable to open file '24g_232demo_V01.c' > > > The free version is DOS based, isn't it?
