Having a project like this, my sunrise/sunset outdoor light controller, I'd be very careful to advise such a solution. I used the 32kHz watch crystal to clock timer1, and the project drifts. Those crystals are extremely temp sensitive. RTC chips with internal crystals are temp compensated. It does make a difference.
