For good selectivity, you would need to use the ZN414 in a superhet configuration (w/ a transistor mixer and oscillator circuit), but then it's no longer "world's second simplest radio" Super-regenerator may be ideal for this application, however... OP: can you provide a better description of the application? What exactly are you trying to accomplish?
