Every programming tool that can read a chip and write its content to a
file contains code for this. It is not a big deal. Pickit2, XWisp (Olins
PC side of his proggers?) are all available as source, so you can
extract what you need. I think you could even use MPLAB as-is, edit the
hex file window, and write the result, but delaing with holes in the
address range might not be possible.
