Thing is, the Walkman phones are stupidly expensive (and ugly IMO) and the new K800i is expensive. Plus if it's anything like the K750i, the firmware is going to be damn unstable for at least another six months - because the K750i has been out a while, most of the bugs have been eliminated. Personally, I'd rather have a reliable not-quite-up-to-date phone than something that's up-to-date and crashes every day or two.
