Most people will find the video mentioned below worth watching. Wingsuits are now available from a number of suppliers. However - Old enough and experienced enough to have half a chance of staying alive Yves Rossy, former military pilot and now Airbus Captain has gone one better and developed a jet powered wing suit, dropped (with user) from an aircraft and capable of powered ascent at 1000 feet/minute*. Current powered duration is under 5 minutes. He plans a unit with 10 minutes duration and capable of vertical climb. (*Actual performance is moot - the climb rate figure came from the end of the video whereas the web page statement is more modest.) http://www.jet-man.com/actuel_eng.html Don't be surprised if you read of him dying any time, as a significant number of wing suit pioneers have in the past. Equally, he may successfully introduce a new facet to the sport. Site has an extremely impressive video of a complete flight in the Swiss alps. Creative camera work adds to the apparent performance but it is still an extremely impressive demonstration. Landing is, as with all wing suits so far, by parachute. Exit from the aircraft looks extremely risky. The rest of the flight doesn't look 100% safe either :-).
