The efficiency is so low, that a standard D cell battery will be cheaper. A propane torch will burn about 1 pound of propane in 10 hours. Remember you must keep the fire running even when you do not use much power. Propane cost about 50 cents a pound in 20 pound tanks. The TED produces very low voltage and higher current. You will need to convert from less than 1 volt (at least for the unit I used) to 3 or 5 volts. Have fun. Don't expect a lot of power.
