my +5vdc seems fine, my header is identical to serveral other successful projects, and my xtal is very close to the mcu. 

pin2 is connected to osc1 and pin3 to osc2 on the sx-key.

when i looked up [url]http://www.parallax.com/dl/docs/prod/datast/SX48BD-Data-v1.5.pdf[/url] for the pin assignments i noticed that i may have soldered the sx48 upside down.

con some confirm?

ps the flash made my solder job look much worse than it is and i've already tested the device for solder bridges.
